Leila is a Lebanese filmmaker and photographer based between Beirut and Prague with an MFA in Film Directing from FAMU.
Her second-year FAMU short documentary The Adam Basma Project was short-listed for the 48th annual Student Academy Awards (the Student Oscars) after touring various international documentary film festivals.
Her FAMU graduation film Sea Salt was selected to premiere at the 80th La Biennale Venice International Film Festival in the official Orizzonti Short Film Competition.
Her photography work was exhibited in various galleries in Beirut and Prague.

Leila also works as a screenwriting and directing mentor at FAMU for the CET American program. She is the founder of Arab Girls in Film, a platform that aims to support Arab female, trans, and non-binary filmmakers in the region and diaspora. She is also part of the SWANA collective Temple Of, focused on shedding light on Artists and cultures from the SWANA region in Prague.
Leila is currently developing her first feature film Running with Beasts, and her first feature documentary Dance with Me.
